Baritone 12-string

I think I must be the only person in the world who wants this, but here goes:

- baritone scale (well, 30" would be even better, hey if I'm dreaming... )
- 2" wide nut
- 12-string headstock
- boatneck

One could almost do that out of a paddlehead baritone 7-string, but there's that neck profile issue again.  :blob7:

Not sure if you are aware of this luthier, Bob Veillette

http://www.veilletteguitars.com/

He is known for building baritone 12 string guitars, both electric and acoustic. I don't really like the looks of his stuff, but love the concepts. He also has a bunch of sound clips of his various 6 and 12 string baritones. Check it out, right now, if this is the sound you're after.

That actually sounds like a really cool idea.

Thanks, Doc.  I've owned at least one 12-string for (mumble) years now, and recently rediscovered the fun of my Danelectro baritone axe.

Thanks, Nathan.  That is the sort of sound I'm jonesing for; but yeah, his instruments, while well-made, don't really do it for me.

Where would you find strings?

http://www.juststrings.com has baritone strings, and they sell singles as well as sets, so I don't foresee a problem there.

An aside -- this is so cool, having people who don't look at me like I'm crazy.

Crazy, no.  This is custom forum, you're in the right place. Once I saw a long-scale mandolin.  It was basically a 4-string guitar with octave strings.
