Got this off the sale a while back.
Never refinished a body before, though I use to paint cars.
Dyed the body, couple coats of lacquer clear, then used a grain filler.
Being unfamiliar to the process of applying filler, I was forced to sand through the clear to get a smooth surface with the grain filler, removing some of the dye as well..
As I sanded I began to like the results, so just decided to clear over it. It has a nice kind of "worn" look. I like it.
The neck has just a touch of flame on the back that looks nice while still looking plain on the front, which I also like.
It is finished in satin on the back and the front pegface is gloss.
The decal is embedded in clear, then sanded to be entirely smooth. It is a very, very thin decal so it doesn't require too much clear to be smooth.
Fretboard is Pau Ferro and the frets are SS med jumbo
Pickups will be Dimarzio Rails, Pro Track neck, Fast Track 1 middle, Super Distortion S or Fast Track 2 in the bridge.
