Band Practice

There's going to be an 80's music event here in November. I got a few of my friends together and we're going to join. We had our first real practice on Sunday. We've decided on the following tunes

1. Billy Idol: Rebel Yell
2. Gary Moore: Walking By Myself
3. 5 song AC/DC medley
4. cap it off with Rock n Roll All Nite by KISS.

Here is some video from the first practice. Timing is way off but again, it was the first practice with everyone together for the first time. We'll be meeting again the first week of November to hammer it all out.

The AC/DC video should be up later.

By the way, excuse the singing. That is me. I'm not a singer and I hate my voice but I can deal with that better than I can deal with an egotistical singer. hehe!! Plus, everyone prefers the native English as opposed to the Japanese English. hehe!! Oh, that's me on the right with the cream colored Strat.....wearing a Bengals jersey.

Hey, not bad Mully.  I don't think the vocals are that bad, you capture that Billy Idol je ne sais quoi that would seem to elude a more polished singer.  I like it.

I'd add, "Rock You Like a Hurricane," as an alternate, because, well, I like that song.  It was one of my earliest Music Video memories.  Ahh the 80's...  Not bad on the tunes you picked.  The idea of an 80's music event sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks, guys. These are severely unpolished. In the Rebel Yell vid I didn't even know what I was playing. Just winged it. Sat down with it last night and worked it out though so next time should be better. And again, the timing is way off between the four of us. Hehe. They'll be better after the next time I'm sure.

Wanted to do some Scorpions but the other guitarist wanted to do that Billy Idol tune so I didn't push it. Plus, I don't sing and play together very well so the Scorps may be a toughie.

I weigh about 370, spandex jumpsuits are off the menu. We want to keep people in the room. If I wore a spandex jumpsuit I'd look like an upside down bowling pin. Not good, not good at all.

Let me add that we have a 5 song AC\DC medley. We only have 30 minutes to play. Oh, I'll also be doing a 2-3 minute mini version of EVH's live solo spot.
