Many moons ago, I bought a black Strat body from the ESP shop in Hollywood, CA, and asked that it be drilled for a Floyd Rose.  When the body arrived, it was a different body (the one I held in the shop had the ESP logo in the neck pocket, the one I received did not).  After assembling the whole guitar, I noticed the Original Floyd trem was very stiff, it wouldn't return to a "zero" position.  Later on, I learned that it was due to the posts being just far enough out of alignment (too far apart) that it caused binding.  Aside from filling and redrilling, are there any fixes for such a problem?

Thanks!

When I got all razorbrain-detail-obsessive about putting a two-point whammy on a Warmoth seven (no it doesn't; yes you can) I noticed that there were a number of different sizes and thicknesses to the pivot studs that went in the bushings. If you're not looking for TOO great an increase in pivot point-to-point, some studs with a larger diameter at the pivot point might be closer together?

It still wouldn't change the center point, I am no Floydhead by any means.

Nahh these were the old screw type studs that came with the Floyd.  It was also the last time I used wood from anywhere but Warmoth.
