Or is there too much involved with licensing?  I'm tempted to get a body blank and make my own Bich.

That, or there may just not be enough call for them to justify the setup to make them.

They did used to make Mockingbirds.  My guess is the traditional cease-and-desist letter was followed by the traditional "Screw it, no profit in fighting the original manufacturer if they don't want to license at a reasonable price" reasoning.

Indeed, a "cease and desist" did occur, as well as one from Ernie Ball/Music Man on all body styles and headstock shapes resembling theirs.

In short, no BCR, no EB/MM.

There is always the blank body option, if you're feeling adventurous.

I have definitely considered this.  Who knows, I might even be able to glue an extension to the neck, cut wings off the pre-routed blank, and make it a neck-through.  Then, doing various other things, like mixing different woods for longitudinal stringer might be a temptation.

But just the thought of this scares me!  LOL!  :laughing7:

Then, there is the whole paddle head-stock thing... :help:

I'm pretty sure Greywolf use to do something similar using a Carvin neck-through neck blank and and a Warmoth body blank.

Well, some of it is in progress, anyway.  :laughing7:  But the best part is that most of it is almost free. :)
