AXIS SUPERSPORT TRUE TEMPERMAMENT NECK, ANYONE?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the closest neck to an axis SS? I am thinking about a true temperament axis ss neck? I have been quoted around $1400 for a Warmoth. Any other options out there?

Maybe contact Ernie Ball and ask them to sell you a neck that hasn't been cut for frets yet. They may not warrant it, but that's to be expected. Send that to True Temperament for their fret installation. You may have to have a finish applied after the fact, but that's easy enough.

Ernie ball won't sell parts, I know because I bought an old axis body and called them about purchasing a neck. Best chance is to have a new fret board made for the neck he has.

You're kinda screwed.  The EBMM neck pocket is not the same as the Fender spec pocket, so if you really want it to fit, you gotta either (a) come up with a EBMM-spec neck, or (b) come up with an Axis body that has a Fender-spec pocket.  The latter might be easier - I happen to have a Warmoth VW (Axis-style) body lying around waiting for me to get to work on it.  I'd let it go for a reasonable price.  It's unfinished, but if you want I could dye it and finish it and send it your way.

PM me if you're serious.  It also comes with a chrome TOM bridge and tailpiece Cagey donated to the cause.  If you want it finished, I can work that out as well.  My plan at present (whenever I get my act together) is dye the top with a natural masked binding edge, and paint the nondescript alder back black.  I have a variety of colors on hand.
