Axe Fx II Setup

The MX 10, the flagship of the Dominator line!

And when you die, they can bury you in it!

I can never get videos embed.  However, here's a good link for a Mr. Show's take on buying speakers from a guy in a van.
Oops, wrong video.  Clearly, I'm not tech savvy enough for the Axe Fx II yet.  Here's the right video, I think.

Fixed that for you.

[list type=decimal]
[*]To embed a YouTube video, you place the cursor in the message box on the line you wish the video to appear
[*]Click on the YouTube icon on the extreme left side of the second line of the hypertext option buttons above the message box. This will put a couple tags on the screen where your cursor was placed.
[*]Go to the YouTube video you want to embed, and copy everything past the first "=" sign in the address bar.
[*]Paste that little line of gibberish (it'll look something like the "yykbK-GjEKE&feature=youtu.be" it was for the above video) between the YouTube tags.
[*]Profit!

    Thanks Cagey.
So I looked at the Yamaha DXR 10s and it's my understanding that it has the power amp built into to it.

Right. 700 watts continuous. Oddly enough, the spec sheet says it only draws 90W from the mains, so they must have some sort of magical power supply  :icon_biggrin:

I'm a big fan of Yamaha's gear, and I'm sure these sound nice. But, at $899 ea., I think I'd go the extra $100 and get the Atomic.

99% of the time I use my QSC HPR112is (now known as KW-12s).

Hey!  How do you like those HPR112s?  I've been thinking of trying the KW-12s (and the 10s)
I love them!, Pretty flat, plenty of volume (with a single one I can get to 120db which helps when setting a patch for stage volume on the rare occurances I am not on a silent stage).
They were the current model when I got them. New they were $700 a piece. Got 2 of them used for $600. Got 2 as I was leaving one at 1 venue I used to play at.

Cool!  you know, QSC is kinda a dark horse when it comes to PA equipment.  They also have a new sub-compact mixing board that looks pretty interesting.  I'm looking around for a local dealer now.

Touchmix? Long & McQuade has them. The one here in Peterborough had one for about three hours flat, and someone snagged it. I didn't even get to look at it...

I don't live in the US - but I think you got the price wrong:

Apart from the price and the really good response* - they are also lighter than most other of comparable quality. If you got roadies to carry your gear this is of course not relevant.

* I actually sold of my KRK VXT8 studio monitors and uses the DXR10's as studio monitors also.

I'm saved.  Looks like Steve's has them.

I love Steve's. I've bought a few guitars from them. Nice guys and pretty fast shipping. Their toronto store is like a candy store..

I got it from Yamaha's spec page, not realizing it was a MSRP instead of a street price. Should've known better. Sorry about that.

I tested pretty much every monitor I could get my hands on and ended up buying the Yamaha DXR10.  Look around and you can get them at half the price of an Atomic and even less used (and easier to find used).  Going from quality studio monitors to my new DXR10, I didn't have to tweak any of my presets and that says a lot in my book
