Yeah, the guy is seriously talented. The original guitar looks great and the new build is looking like it, too, will be awesome ... except for that shamrock. It's too bad that's the guy's signature; I think it really detracts from the overall badassness and aesthetic of the guitars.

Hey this guy finished his build  :blob7: and holy crap WOW WOW WOW :icon_thumright:

Not to derail this thread, but is there a way for me to mark this thread so i can come back to it in the future?

Or do I just write down where its posted from and the thread tittle, and dig for it when i wanna return.

I wish there was a button i could click so it would always show up when I click show unread posts since last visit.

Hi Alfang  :icon_biggrin:

1st up there is a ..... Show unread posts since last visit.
and ........................ Show new replies to your posts.

At the top left of the forum (just under your name)
That should answer part of your Q's .... rest below.

Theres a zillion other ways, heres some ........
If your on imac, you can go to file, 'save as' to wherever you want as 'Web Archive'
Or you could go to file, 'Print' then save as PDF to wherever.
Or you can just 'Bookmark' it.

Or you can pull up a new Textedit page and copy to that, the link above to the Textedit page.
(thats what I do, for any links I see, that I want to keep)  :icon_thumright:
Then just write what it's about.

I got No idea how Windows Works (sorry)  :dontknow:

Thanks for the post UD.
These pics help shed some light on all the processes that go into guitar crafting.

If you're interested in the gory detail of building a Strat from scratch, you may want to go through Ron Kirn's treatment of the subject. Very good pictures and lots of them, with useful commentary.

Also, a long-winded but perhaps more educational video series from Jason at Musician's Den is worth spending the time to watch. He uses Warmoth parts and fairly traditional hardware to build very nice Strat. It's in 36 parts, so get yourself a 6-pack and some salty snacks before you start.

He does a nice job. Plus, he doesn't seem to want to rape his customers. One of his Strats will run you about $1,800, which isn't chicken feed, but I'd buy one of those before I'd pay the $3-$4 grand Fender wants for one of their Custom Shop issues. Not that they do a bad job, but I'm not sure the value/dollar is there.
