Anyone up for a blues jam?

Ok, I looked around the forum for a music section and didn't see one so I'm posting here.

Anyone up for a blues jam? I have a backing track in the key of A. It's just about 6 minutes long so we can get 6 people at 1 minute each (12 bars x2). Basically all you need is a way to record yourself playing. If you guys are interested I'll post up the backing track for you to download. We'll get 6 people, first person downloads the original backing track, plays their solo, then posts it back up here for the next person. Next person downloads the version with the first solo on it and records their part from where the previous one finished and so on and so forth.

So, what say ya? Anyone up for it? I'm going to call spot number 3. Times will look like this

0:00-1:00
1:00-2:00
2:00-3:00 MULLY
3:00-4:00
4:00-5:00
5:00-6:00

These times aren't exact but you get the general idea.

If you want to join I'll put you in as first come first serve. If you don't care where you play I'll just drop you in somewhere. You can request a position if you like. Again, first come, first serve.

Lower level players/beginners, this is a perfect opportunity for you to put something out there to get feedback. I'm no great player so no need to feel intimidated by me. With me in there at least you know you won't be alone. hehe!!!

One rule though, it has to be played on a Warmoth build or a guitar with a Warmoth body or Warmoth neck. Keep it true to the forum.

and hey, if we get more than 6 takers (minus myself because I'm already in) we can always just use the same backing track and do 2 of them or 3 or 4 or whatever.

Wait a second, I don't see any way to attach an mp3 for upload here. If it can't be done I can probably host it somewhere.

I would except that I'll be in the states in 8 (kinda weird that being in the states is the exception for me) and my gear's gonna stay here. Also, all my recording gear is where my band jams so I wouldn't be able to get a hold of it fast enough.  :sad1: Next time, eh?

If only I had a Warmoth I'd be in. Curse my lack of money, still at the dreaming stage of my Warmoth  :(

Loving the idea though  :icon_thumright:

I'll do it - but I'd like to hear the backing track to see if it's something I can play over. I have a bunch of GC blues tracks and some of them throw me for a loop - -I'm not a strict blues guy, but I can fake it a little.

Here's a link to the backing track. I don't know if you need an account at MediaFire or not but if you do, it's free so no harm done.

I've got plenty of backing track stuff from Doug7, it's mostly blues stuff and straight boom-chuck, but it's live.
Anybody who's interested in tele playing that doesn't know about this guy should check out moderncountryguitar.com or sizzlingguitarlicks.com
I'd be a real shoe-in for the jam, but I'm still dreaming up my W, too.

I might go for this depending on timing.

I'm the guy who had the 36-part YouTube Warmoth build done, so I would use that axe. But as it turns out, the '59 roundback isn't working for me. So the guit's in the shop right now getting a neck reshape. :tard:

So if I get my W back in time, this sounds like fun!

However... I clicked on the link and there's no file to download?

Noooo! I watched every part of that build. It was perfect!!! ...Just kidding, it's your guitar so you can do what you want to it.

Are they going to refinish it after they whittle it down? I've seen some CS relics with "no finish on the back" 2:15 in the video below.

I just checked, it's there. No way to send it to you, man. It's an 8meg file and mailboxes don't go over 3.

my email can handle any size (yowza!)

when I click your link I go to mediafire and it says there's 0 items to display

edit - I signed up for an account and am logged in and there's still nothing there....

Give it a try again. I had the thing set so it couldn't be shared by the public. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I opened this account so I could send things home and I had it set so only my mom could get into it. ha!!! My bad!

:laughing7: Trust me, I would rather be playing it than waiting another few weeks, but I want this thing to fit like a glove when all is said and done. That's a big reason for rolling our own, eh? The '59 is a bit too fat and square-shouldered for me. Big "oops" on my part. :sad1:

Yep. It's in the care of John Carruthers, Venice, CA, (http://www.carruthersguitars.com/) master craftsman, luthier to the stars, blah, blah... I'm sure it's going to come back "factory fresh", i.e., like new.

Sorry for the t/j. Now back to the previously scheduled thread... the link works now.

Don't sweat it. It justs gets you closer to knowing what perfection is  :icon_thumright:

My first Warmoth, I got a Standard Thin. Much too thin.
Second one has a 59, can't wait to try that out.
3 may even have a fatback :icon_biggrin:
