He has an impressive web page. Claims they are all hand wound and will built whatever you want.

His stuff and him get rave reviews on Harmony Central.

He has some Strat pickups wound like P90s.

An interesting idea.

Anyone had any experience with these?

Yes,
I had Pete build me a set for this left hand Strat when he was still in Livermore California.  He is very pleasant to deal with, got me the order quickly and to my specifications.  I only used the one set to try them out since they were not going in one of my guitars.  They were nice but I much prefer the custom order Fralin pickups that I get from Bill Callaham.  I love the SRV/Hendrix/EJ set and will continue to use those in my personal guitar builds until something else blows me away.

It's got a Tonar finish, I'm guessing. Let's see if I can guess some stuff...

Warmoth body and neck, extra light swamp ash, callaham parts.

How close am I?  :toothy10:

Hey Tonar, I was thinking about getting the metal base plate to put under the old
Bill Lawrence L220s I found.

Does that really have that much effect on the tone?

I order all my pickups with it on them, I like it.

Almost Max.  On this one I used a regular Fender bridge assembly.  Callaham did not have any left-hand gold tremolos when I put this one together.  The guitar still turned out very nice.  I was getting pretty good at playing upside down before I delivered it to the guy I built it for.  It was hard to put down.
