Anyone know anything about Sound House in Japan? These guys have my pedals for sale, and I think they are getting them from my US dealer LA Music services.
I've been working on Japanese distribution for some time, so not too impressed that there's this back channel going on. Anyone know anything about them?

Probably one of the biggest and most popular online music stores here. Nothing shady about them, so you should send them an email if you feel they're doing something unethical.

In my limited contact with Japanese companies I've found them reputable and forthright, so they must think they are doing things legit. Japan is a great market, they look for quality items like yours. I'm sure they'll have a sensible explanation, and probably would love to be an outlet for you

It might not be a back channel, maybe one of those "pre-order-with-markup"deals famous with Japanese sellers on eBay.
Is it priced 'considerably more than retail' ? Did you check the fine print on delivery? Maybe they wait til they get an order, they immediately buy one DIRECT FROM YOU - pass it to Japan through their trusted Canadian contact, and deliver to the Japanese buyer?

They are all priced right at retail, which is pretty strange. If it's just a regular joe selling my stuff to them then he doesn't get wholesale prices and therefore does not make any money.

Sound house has since removed my products from their website, although Mayfly is still listed under brands page. I'm going to send them a politely worded letter offering them a dealership and see what happens.

I recall sometime in the past few weeks Phillip McKnight saying Japanese companies come over here and buy containers worth of stuff and ship it back. He usually talks about his store from the past, but maybe that’s what’s happening?

Don’t know anything about Ikebe, but I bought a used 45th anniversary Mayones guitar with their name on it a few years ago.
