another waterslide decal question

first question, first build, total newb!..

I want to put a waterslide decal on my headstock which is finished in the matte finish..

Once I put it on, can anybody give me any advice on what I should spray over it, to seal it in? I'd really like to maintain the matte finish rather than anything glossy..

Shellac is pretty much a universal sealant and interface barrier.  That will hold down the decal and keep it from reacting with whatever topcoat you decide on.  I get along fine with Zinsser Bullseye in a rattle-can.

thanks to all. I know the Zinsser brand from some house decorating/renovation projects, and after a quick check, can get them here in Europe.
