Les Paul Guitar Pick Gibson Les Paul Rare Pick 1932 Rare

"This has been in my collection for the last 5 years & is very rare.
I also have the full owner's background on this pick.
I was told that les paul was not happy about this guitar pick with his name on it back then, but do not know much more about it, but its old and very rare & belongs in a museum or even hard rock cafe las vegas.
didnt want to part with this, but I have some bills to pay.
This deal is for the guitar pick pictured only!

The guitar pick was once owned by Colorado State University botanist and author, H. D. Harrington
I bought it from his brother along with a 1932 Martin C-2, which I sold last year.
Gibson put a small number of these picks into circulation in the the early 50s, until Les Paul objected.  Apparently they could not come to a licensing agreement, so production was halted and picks were withdrawn from sale.
See:  http://herbarium.biology.colostate.edu/cobotanists.htm  "Harrington was a self-taught violinist, as well as a player of the Spanish guitar and ukulele, which he brought along on CSU field trips to entertain his students."

Our info is that Mr. Harrington bought it new and after his death, it remained in the family until we bought the guitar-pick combo.
Hope you can find a good home for this gem!!

Oh, so the market is up right now? I have some string ball-ends owned by Hendrix, and a bottle cap that was once owned by SRV, that I've been meaning to sell for years. I'd like $80k for each.

there is a guitar shop near me called imperial guitar. the owner Bill Imperial has a personal collection of rare guitars that he hangs on a section of the wall and rotates through them. trusted customers can even play them (one of these days i'll ask to play that rosewood telecaster). sometimes he'll put something from his collection up for sale. about a year and a half ago he had a gibson hummingbird acoustic up there he claims he bought from les. but Bill is a resonable guy. he didn't have any special premium on the guitar. it was priced about what the guitar was worth as a guitar.

that pick wasn't even touched by les or anyone famous. it's just a rare pick. it's not exactly sought after. why because something has a name on it and few were made doesn someone assume it'll be worth money? it can't be more rare than guitars actually owned by les.

You guys don't get it.

H. D. Harrington - who doesn't want to pay premium for a pick previously owned by H. D. Harrington?

CSU is my alma mater! You mean to tell me that I could have been the proud owner of that pick for a few semesters' worth of tuition? I've wasted my money... and my life.  :sad1:
