Anodized Pickguards

I have a gold one on a Strat of mine and I wish Warmoth offered them with the option of getting that 1st volume hole removed (as they do on all their Strat pickguards).  Plenty of other suppliers sell anodized pickguards, but no one makes them without that volume position.

I wish they offered it. I hate that volume control location. That and the stupid single coil in the bridge. Give me an anodized HSS with a relocated volume and tone. :bananaguitar:

Since the anodized pickguard was intended as a replacement part for vintage spec guitars, they didn't see any point in tooling up for all the variations the marketplace would call for.

Ι like anodized pickguards too, both silver & gold. Warmoth offers excellent pickguards, their colors are always chosen carefully so if they do it I'm hoping it would be of good quality cause I have seen different qualities online. They would be expensive if they offer it, the most expensive pickguard material of everything they offer currently. It would be good though to start from scratch for every type of pickup, switch and pot combination.

It probably depends on how they make the existing 'guards. If they're made one at a time by hand using templates, then making anodized aluminum ones wouldn't be that big a deal. Carbide router bits will chew on aluminum without much trouble. But, if they have a CNC machine cutting them out, then it would have to be reprogrammed to change the speeds and feeds of the cutters, which I'm pretty sure they'd be a lot less likely to do.

I signed up specifically to reply to this thread...
PLEASE Warmoth start making Gold Anodized Guards!
I am currently looking at purchasing a Warmoth Hybrid Strat Pickguard, and I really wish that I could get one in Gold Anodized...

Even if they could cut them easily, they would have to be anodised after cutting because it isn't like torrefying wood, it's a surface treatment. I suppose it would look interesting with a 'silver' edge - for a while anyway.
