I'd love to be able to shape and drill my own Deluxe 5 Bass headstock.

im sure if you beg and plead, and have enough dirt on greg, they just might sell you one without the headstock cut.
they'd be crazy not to, greg's good name is on the line.

you can also send them an at-size drawing of the head stock and they can cut it out and drill the tuner holes for an upcharge.
