Amp Cab Idea

That gives me an Idea, I wonder if Warmoth would do a calender with the builds both in action and styled poses, just a thought not trying to hijack..

Dear God,
No naked shots please. I don't think the world is ready for Dangerous' 9" barrel yet. ( He does carry a gun afterall    :laughing7: )

Hey Max

Was wondering if you know of any good (and easy for us old fogies) photo CD cover software so I could eventually print my own CD covers.....

:icon_biggrin:, yes I do...

Yeah, Trevor, I'd thought of that. I'm trying to decide if I want to put handle in the diamond (I can make it work), or go with the side handles.

And Stubby, I used Sketchup for the 3d model, and photoshop for the 2d/design. Gimp is a deep program for free, but has a learning curve. Not sure of really any easy ones, because I like the advanced stuff.

If you consider putting the handles on the side, you could do yourself a favour and work out a way to recess them. With the handles flush to the box side, they will stick out and end up being bumped off when in transport when they are in the back of your car, or being set up. Also you would keep brushing or bumping into them yourself in close confines, like your bedroom at home, and sometimes that may happen when you have a guitar on with the cord.....So yeah, if you can work out a way to recess them so they don't become a nuisance or end up having to replace...  :icon_thumright:

But those sort of handles don't look like they belong on the style of those cabs you drafted up. Too modern....

I got me a pair of them for my cab, they look pretty nifty. Although, mine are chrome, old (although they've never been used) and a tad rusty, but seeing them in black just sparked the idea of how to solve that problem.

I don't think either of those handles really suit Max's design though. Something might this would look real nice:

Not sure if they are appropriate for the weight of the amp, though.

I would be inclined to use something more like this:

They are spring loaded, and I have used them on PC Cases before. The cutout required for them is usually about the size of a modern smartphone, and they can usually each support about 20 kilograms.

Those are cool, reminds me of ammo box handles...

Anyone who has ever lugged around ammo cases in sorts of conditions never wants to be reminded of them again! They weigh a ton.....  :laughing7:

That's my thoughts too Conor, but those leather ones are a nuisance in real life if they are installed on the sides of cabinets. They aren't recessed and jut out waiting to be snagged on anything or get ripped off, if the load is loose within a boot of  a car or back of a truck.

I considered the 2 handles on the top, but... how well does that work for one-handed carrying?

Put 4 speakers in it, or 2 speakers and some rocks. Then nobody will complain about two handles!  :toothy12:

Yep, Conner, that's the favorite handle for me. I'll just need to find the best way to get it on there
