(DbU - you could do the world a favour and record a decent sounding vid of your Uberschall, lots of people have tried but they lack quality somewhere along the line. Either the recorded sound is crap or their playing is not up to scratch.)

I think the problem with a lot of the You Tube clips of the Uberschall is that everyone naturally reaches for the volume knob and cranks the thing to get that distortion, but the setting of a bedroom/small studio is too small to handle that, so they either set the mic back too far, poorly position the mic,  or totally ruin the audio with too much volume.

I saw them at Download last year and they were awful! The singer kept on looking at his watch, the drummer kept on going out of time, and in the end people left feeling very unsatisfied. The only reason I was there was because my mate wanted a nostalgia trip.

As much as I love hair bands, enuff z nuff were crap. I think it was the whole brit pop phenomenon that ruined it for me, its singing in that Mersey-side accent that does it like.

Yes and no. I basically own "Fall of August", registered the name years ago. I'm putting another band together and the name will go on.
