Inlaid paua abalone against the curly koa center strip, camera phone isn't that great but it does look nice .  a bit more final sanding and a little tint to the koa and it will be ready for finishing.

sanded to 600 grit and a few coats of french polish ( still wet)  really makes everything POP

What's the scale length on that?  Looks oddly short.

25"  24 fret 12" radius

As it is a neck through , I have the ability to sink the neck in for a nice compact package.

I  spent the morning in the shop , handcutting a set of Koa pickup rings ..  a bit tricky but worth the effort

only 1 , the first one was out of lacewood , much more fragile.
