Just wanted to post a few pictures of the Strat I just finished for our un-officially adopted son.  We've known him since he was 5 and he has practically lived with us for the past 15 years.  We always fly him over to where we are for a visit every year.  He needed a new guitar and I had plenty of spare parts lying around so I put this together for him for Christmas.

It is a Vintage Strat Alder body and a maple/rosewood neck.  I finished the body in Cherry Stain with Poly rattle can finish.  The neck is Satin Nitro rattle can.  The pickups are a set of Rio Grande Tallboys.  It can out really nice.

So for your viewing pleasure....

He's a lucky boy in more ways than one.  Lovely work.    That cherry stain really does look like cherry.

It's often the simplest things in life that are the most rewarding:  Family, whether inadvertent or intentional - and a Stratocaster.

Very nice! I think the Cherry Stain worked very well!
That's an Axe anyone should be proud of!  :guitarplayer2:

Elegant axe! I really like the black pickups and pickguard and the fact it's a hardtail! Too many whammy-bar Strats out there for my taste. Excellent job.
