I received a new Warmoth neck and body and I really had to post some pics.  I mainly want to say thankyou to the Warmoth guys.  They delivered the quality I paid for and probably a bit more on top of that.  I'm impressed about how well finished and precisely dimensioned the neck is, the great fret installation, amazing quality woods and everything else.  Special thanks to the legend (initials S.C) who painted the nicest tobacco burst paint finish that I've ever seen!

Nice, really nice. Tobacco burst and a neck that goes perfectly with it.

Thanks for the positive comments.    I'm happy with the way the woods matched out of the box - they are both a bit smoky  :icon_biggrin:,  I used necks with raw Pau Ferro fretboards before and its become my favourite.  However roast maple is new to me.

My plan is to put a few light coats of Tung oil on the roasted maple areas to prevent it from absorbing dirt and finger oils.  It will be interesting to see how the color of the roasted maple changes.

In the last week I was able to put 3 coats of Tung oil on the maple parts of the neck.  24 hours drying time between coats, and light sanding with extra fine paper such as 1,500 or 2,000 grit.  The colour has gone a bit darker, and IMO it got more tobacco yellow colour as well.

The pics below show the colour after application of Tung oil!

The 3rd pic shows the unique choice Pau Ferro fretboard from the neck builder, just as a reference.
