One of my simple pleasures in life is watching a finish transform into a mirror like gloss after a little elbow grease !

The Inferno Burst Meadowhawk neck was ready for level sanding, buffing and polishing today as it was finished a little earlier than the body. Still another week for the body, but super happy with the neck.

Believe it or not, this is my first build with a 3+3 headstock, so not quiet sure how to line up the tuners yet. They’re not tightened down or screwed in yet though.

Is that the rub on finish? The blue part, how did you do that? Turned out great, can I do that if I already put on tru oil? I would like to steal your recipe

Thanks ! No this is tinted nitro lacquer sprayed on with a gun. I’m experimenting with the tinted rub on for a future build. I did this to match the back of the body since I was spraying that with Nitro. First time I tried it and super happy with it.

On a headstock like that, slight tilt would look nice. I like the feel of tuners slanted 5 or 10 degrees towards the nut...
Good idea, I’ll try that and see how it looks. I also thought about installing them with the hipshot ‘Universal Mount Plate’ just to line them up, then drill the holes through the plate and into the wood, then remove the plates. I don’t like the look of them.
