Adding 720 mod on showcase items?

Is that possible? I can't see it. I'm talking about showcase bodys with finish on them.

Or is there a risk of damging the finish this way?

Also, is 720 mod PLUS contoured heel a good idea? This would make for some pretty good fret access if I'm going 24 fret.

The neck pocket floor is normally down .625" from the face of the body; the "720" mod is just a matter of lowering that floor .095". I've done it myself, but not on a finished body. Still, it doesn't widen/lengthen the pocket, so it shouldn't impact the finish. Of course, that doesn't mean Warmoth is willing to risk it. You'd have to call them.

Ah okay! Well, maybe I'll go custom order but still... I just want a plain white soloist body but I wanna have Gotoh Floyd and Warmoth just doesn't wanna do that. So I would prefer showcase item to save some money. But then I can't get a 720 mod out of the showcase.

There's ALWAYS some little detail keeping me from EVERY guitar idea I have...

I guess the heel of RGs are even thinner than a 720 mob combined with contoured heel, right?

I wouldn't say they won't do the 720 mode, just that you'd have to call or email them to find out for sure. Maybe they will do it for a few extra bucks on certain bodies. There's a lotta stuff they'll do that doesn't show up as options in the Showcase or even in the builder because it's difficult to program the mods into the automation. Too many exceptions. Headstock veneers are one example - colored neck finishes are another.

As far as pocket thickness, I can't answer that directly as I'm not familiar with the RG, but I can't imagine a .095" thinner pocket having a noticeable impact.
