ABM vs. Schaller

I had all intentions of using a Tone Pros Tune-O-Matic bridge on my V build.  Then when ordering the body, I discovered that I have to use a roller bridge because I am using a Bigsby tremolo.  Warmoth does not carry roller bridges so I am looking elsewhere.

I did not see a great variety of high quality roller bridges out there.  It came down to a ABM Tunematic roller bridge or a Schaller Tunematic roller bridge.  I chose the ABM.  I just received it in the mail and I really don't like the looks of it.  Can't really say what specifically about it is not right; it just does not have the look.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these roller bridges.  I am trying to decide if I should drop the ABM and get a Schaller.  If anyone can speak to the quality of the ABM, I can get over the looks.

Thoughts anyone??? :icon_scratch:

Thanks for your time and have a smooth day [or night]  :rock-on:

Why not consider Wilkinson's locking roller bridge ?    (  http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar,_Tune-o-matic_bridges/Locking_Roller_Bridge.html  )

These are made with Bigsby in mind in terms of string break angle and limiting rocking movement from the vibrato unit.  The post spacing is also common with standard Tune-O-Matic bridges.  Great value at $30 or less from other suppliers  ( http://store.guitarfetish.com/gistbr.html ).

Taylor uses these bridges on their T3-Bigsby so quality is definitely not an issue.  (  http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/electric/Models/ModelDetails.aspx?modelid=8  )

Thanks Unwound G,

I had seen the Wilkinson's locking roller bridge online and skimmed over it because it was so cheap.  I think the one I noticed was $24.  If Taylor uses them they must be a quality unit and I will take another look at them.

Thanks again!  :headbang:
