I have the day off today and was going to wire up my WGD body with the Sustainiac.  As I was reading through the booklet, I discovered a passage that made my heart sink to my feet.

To paraphrase, all shielding must be removed from the whole area around the driver and the bridge pickup.  This causes magnetic interference with the driver that causes squeal and grunge in the output signal.  Metal pickup rings will also cause problems, and should be replaced with non-metallic ones.

I had painted all the pup routes with conductive paint and have metal pickup rings.  It is easy to order plastic rings, but how do you remove conductive paint?   :tard:  :sad1: ???

Time machine?

I can't think of anything that wouldn't potentially damage the body and/or your sanity

Maybe it is a good excuse to order a new body  :dontknow:

Or maybe this is your chance to pioneer a new style of music: squeal & grunge.

Not sure what kind of paint you used, but I'm assuming that's a W clear gloss.  Why not try acetone or other paint thinners?  Unless you go with automotive or aircraft grade strippers, they wont hurt that poly finish.
