in the mail a few days ago. I am already using several different models on my guitars, but Vinni Smith (owner of the company) makes over a hundred styles, and I'd only played a few of them. Curiosity got me, and so I got a bunch more of them. I've been playing them the last few days, and have found a few new favorites. Here they are, with brief impressions of each:

The Snake: Very similar to the thinner Screamer, which I am using with a couple of my guitars. This one is a full 4mm thick, and I'm quite surprised that I took to it like I did. The thickness allows me to play with a lighter touch, and it imparts a certain power and sound to the guitar. Very nice.

This is very much like the Pickboy Pos-A-Grip, which I used to play, except it makes the Pos-A-Grip sound dull.

The Jalapeno: this one is the perfect size and shape for me. The holes help the grip, they are very secure feeling, and along with the natural tackiness of the material as it warms up in your hand, will not slip and you won't drop it. A great all around pick. Also very quiet for a V-Pick - without as much of the click that is present in some of the other V-Picks.

I received a bunch of others, but these three are the ones I liked most, and could see playing. But for now I'll continue using these for now. On my electric guitars:

And on my acoustic I use this:

Hahaha, I like that, the Jalapeno...

The clear ones plastic, glass, crystal...what? I do like a variety in mediums. I personally love Titanium and wood.. :icon_biggrin:

Yeah the Jalapeno is one of my favorites. All V-Picks are made of acrylic and/or acrylic-polycarbonate resin blends. Then they are either cast or (I think) laser cut, and then hand finished to a mirror smooth bevel so it glides easily off the string. The different materials and shapes produce different attack and tone characteristics. I've been having fun testing them, but it's bloody hard to just pick one or two to settle on. They tend to have a somewhat "livelier" attack than most other - plastic or nylon or cellulose - picks.

I will have to give that Euro II a try.  I have used a Pickboy Pos-A-Grip for years and has pretty much been my go to pick.
I am interested to check out the sound difference you mention.  The Jalapeno sounds rather intriguing as well.
Might as well try them both...

I experimented quite a bit with various of Vinnie's picks and fell completely in love with the "Dimension Unbuffed Smokey Mountain". Before I tried it, I couldn't imagine using a pick that thick, but after using it one evening I completely changed my mind, as have several of my friends after trying it! Occasionally, I use the "Screamer Ruby Red" as well.

Yeah,, you have to have card from Doctor Vinnie for these!  :toothy12:

Sorry to be necro-posting, but I just got a V-Pick from a buddy of mine the other day and I can't tell you how happy I am with it. Never thought I'd like any kind of "boutique" pick, and knew I didn't like the pricing of the things, but this little rascal is a real keeper. I still don't know why they cost what they do, but at this point I don't care. I'm gonna order enough to lose/give away/wear out a few.

I'm not certain of the model of this part, but I think it's their "Small, Pointed Pearly Gates". This one measures about 2.65mm, which to me is awfully thick (I'm used to .73mm Dunlop Ultex parts), but it just feels right. The bevel is such that you can just glide over the strings, or beat the snot out of them. Up to you.

I'll check these out. I've been using Tusq picks the past few months and like them. My only complaint is that they don't really make a pointed version. Time to invest in a file?  :)

Wow, this is an OLD thread! Just FYI I'm not using V-Picks any more. They're good picks, but I've been using Gravity Picks (gravitypicks.com) for quite a while now. They also make acrylic picks similar to the V-Picks, but they have a new line out called the Gold Series, which is what I use. They're more like Blue Chip or Red Bear products - they're pricey, but there's nothing like them and they're less expensive than the Blue Chips. I should at this point make a disclaimer and tell you all that I do their advertising and some artist relations for Gravity. Chris Fahey, the owner, is a super nice young fellow, and I've enjoyed working with him. Here's a pic of a Gold Series pick:
