I just ordered one of these for 250 bucks shipped with the intention of putting some Roadhouse P-90s in it (once TT gets around to making them!) and having a bone nut put on it.  I'm not sure if I want to practice fret dressing on this neck, refinish it, swap it out for a W...

Anyway, opinions or ideas?

Pretty cool for $250, I like it, don't care for the color, but i like it....I say mod the hell out of it.... :icon_thumright:

BTW, where did you get it from... :icon_scratch:

They seem to have a lot of interesting Squire stuff.  A buddy wanted the regular Tele Custom (also 250 shipped, lol) for his son who's been playing a year.  He wanted it to be a teaching tool for maintenance and modding.  I saw the one with two P-90s and said, "hey, why not."  Worst case, it cost less than a finished neck or body from Warmoth, and I won't feel nearly as bad about screwing it up.

One of the EBMM/EVH incarnations had 3 P90s, a Strat 5-way switch in the upper horn, and Floyd with D-Tuna.

Really rare and I can't find a photo to post.  Searched every possible format with EVH, Wolfgang, Soapbar, or P-90.

How ironic that theres a post about this
I just finished ordering one of these to turn into a heavy duty slide guitar

$259 US

Squier guitars seem to read every modder's mind and come out with pre-modded models which leave very little room for further alterations.  The 51 is one of these models.  A lot just beat the shivers out of them to create some relic looking workhorses or changing different brands of pickups to alter their character.  AprioriMark, I would change the bridge to something like a Gotoh 510, shim the neck and convert it to a more Gibson sounding/looking guitar to get more satisfaction and skills out of modding.  Just my $0.02.

I doubt it was a EVH sig, all the production guitars had 2 Dimarzio zebra hum's. Either hardtail or a floyd, there were a few oddities, but they were all made for Eddie, there was a 3 single coil a couple of double necks(upper necks were baritones with lipstick pup's) and there were a couple of other single neck baritones with lipsticks. Most likely what you saw was an Axis, which is where the EVH sig derived from. And there have been many variations of the Axis since the demise of the EVH sig...

That's an interesting idea.  I'd also considered putting on this Lynn Collin Tele bridge that he'd showed me once when he refretted my blue Tele.  It was brass and had a mini B-bender type of deal that was a small arm flush with the body that you bent with your pinky.

It may not have been for sale to the public, but this was years ago when he was still with EBMM.  It was a one off jobbie like his doublenecks.

I think I saw that pictures years ago. These are the only ones I could find that remotely resemble it.

This one is most likely to be an Axis Super sport, note the logo on the headstock,  none of the EVH sigs had rosewood fretboards, nor have any of Eddie's that I've seen...

This is the Axis sport...

I'm quite familiar.  But this one had three pickups, a 5-way blade in the upper horn instead of the 3 way toggle, and a Floyd with the D-Tuna.  All of which the Axis didn't have, and this was when he was still with EBMM, the Axis didn't come around 'til his departure.
