I actually got this just before christmas, but I haven't hade the time to work on it or post about it until now. So without further ado - My first warmoth:  :blob7: :headbang1: :blob7:

Jazz bass
Alder body with Black Korina top
Transparent red with a black back and a standard burstover

Quartersawn wenge neck
Wenge fretboard

Lundgren pickups - Twin Jazz bridge and Vintage Jazz neck

I just gave the body to the local guitar guru yesterday for bridge pickup routing. More pictures to come, as soon as I get it back, as well as as soon as I can get a decent picture of the neck. They will probably also be crappy iPhone pictures though. I really should get a better camera...

That body looks sweet! :blob7:

But we need more pics, especially of the whole neck :icon_thumright:

Yes, more neckked pictured please!

I'll try photographing the neck again tomorrow. It's already dark here, and the iPhone camera needs all the sunlight it can get...

Wow! That romps! You're going to be very happy with that, I'm sure.

Yeah, that closeup of the Wenge headstock - tempts me to go ahead and order - but trying to sell a fretless bass in a small town is difficult.

Nice, +1 for the twin over the humbucker. Makes me wish I would have thought of that to replace my music man in the sweet spot.  Active Preamp?

By definition, all preamps are active.

Anyways, very nice build. :icon_thumright:

Who is Lundgren pickups? I have never heard of them before.

Alright, here are som pictures of the neck. Still iPhone quality, but you get some idea of what it's going to look like.

The neck is slim taper, with 6150 frets.
No preamp initially, but I'm thinking about maybe adding one later.

(Johan) Lundgren is a swedish guy, known primarily for making the pickups for Meshuggah's 8-strings, but he also makes some sweet bass pickups  www.lundgren.se

Active because of the 9 or 18v power supply, I got ya, never thought of it that way... Looks like a trough body bridge rout, Badass III? Given any thought to srtings? I've heard that flatwounds will fail and unravel a bit at the saddle, because there is more contact between the string and the bridge than a top loading bridge.

Badass III indeed. I've never had a bass with a through body bridge rout before, so it's gonna be a bit of an experiment for me. I have a friend who insists on running the E and A strings through the body and keeping the G and D strings top loaded. Who knows, perhaps he'll convince me ;-)
I've never been a fan of flat wounds though, so unless something very strange happens I'll keep playing D'Addario XL round wounds.

Yeah thats beautiful, to bad the pickguard covers up a lot of the awesomeness!
