702 mod + 24 frets

I don't see why not... just make sure that you have the neck pickup bumped lower to accomodate for the extra frets and don't use a pickguard on the body or binding on the neck.

I wonder if the fret extension might interfere with the mounting ring. Something to call Warmoth about I think.

warmoth can move the neck pickup route to make room for it. look here...

The route is moved, but what about pickup ring (if using) clearance?

It depends on the pickup ring. I've seen some that are flatter than others, but it probably doesn't matter.

If you don't know, you should advise people to call warmoth, I think.  :icon_thumright:

I'm saying that I couldn't make that call for every single pickup ring, but I've mounted my tall SG rings on top of my strats pickguard and it worked fine... so I'll say it again... it probably doesn't matter...

Mistake may not be the right word.  Rather than say they made a mistake, they may have intended for it to be EVH mounted.  Then again, a ring may fit.  Is it a mistake that a P-90 won't fit in a Strat single coil route?  No, it isn't designed to.
