50s wiring with PUSH/PUSH pots on tone for Series/Parallel question

Hello Everyone!  So I am rewiring my guitar and have a question.  I am wanting 50s wiring but also with push/push on the tone pots for series/parallel.  Is this schematic correct?  I have seen conflicting ones where the tone cap is grounded to the tone POT and one that has it wired to the volume POT, so Im kind of confused now lol...

I have seen it both ways too.  I always ground as shown in this diagram.

Cool.  What about the 50s wiring?
Was I correct in moving the wire to the center lug as shown (the red wire)?

To answer the question, yes.  Moving the tone circuit connection to the middle lug of the volume pot effectively recreates a 50's wiring layout.

As I understand it, 50's wiring moves the tone control "after" the volume control in terms of signal path, whereas modern wiring has the tone control on the incoming signal.  In case you were wondering how it works (which, it's understandable if you weren't).  :icon_biggrin:

That is not quite correct, the black wires where the red wire are on the volume pot going to the switch need to move to the outer lug where the pickup input would normally go.

The ground for the cap would not make any difference as the volume and tones are both grounded together. Just ground the cap to the tone as its closer.

Did not look at the series/parallel part but you may need to adjust based on the above.

I don't follow this.  Wouldn't wiring the switch to the outer lug effectively bypass the volume and tone circuits altogether?

Here's the best description of the effect, not how to do it, here:

I also am confused.  If grounding the CAP to the tone pot is okay then i should be set.  by comparing my diagram to this one that references the 50s wiring it looks like it is correct then...?

Sorry for the confusion.

If the pickup wire to the pot and the wire from the pot to the toggle are swapped on the lugs you also will end up with independent volume controls.

Its a mod that sometimes is done in addition to the "50s" tone pot connection. (See video in next post)

If you don't want independent controls then, of course, you don't need to do that.

Note if you do use independent controls you may lose some high end when rolling back the volume so  a treble bleed circuit can be added in this case dependent on taste.

I managed to find this video which explains the "vintage" wiring and interaction with dependent or independent controls.

I like the way he says 'Lugs'.

Almost as much as the way Johan Segeborn pronounces Mahogany, that's a thing of beauty.
