Hi all
I have a 5 Way  Switch Knob for my Warmoth Strat build but it is to loose is there any way to make it fit snug without glueing it?
Thank's

Well, you could drill a hole it it, tap it, then use a set screw in it.

Might be tricky depending on your experience with machine shop tools.

If your talking the standard plastic switch tip for a strat, a new one will only cost you about fifty cents US. If it's some sort of vintage thing, or you're somehow emotionally tied to the one you have, maybe a bit of aluminum tape on the switch's tab to make it wider to better fit the recess in the tip.

A lil dab of Elmer's glue on the tip of a toothpick or directly on the tip of the switch itself won't hurt any.
It'll be just enough to keep it in there without making a mess, or actually melting the switch slightly to bond.

Usually with Strat tips, it's getting them on or off that's the problem, not keeping them on. If you could live with a Tele switch tip, these guys sell those in a variety of finishes with set screw retention. I can't find any for Strats, though. I used to know of a guy out in Nevada (G.H. Reno) that did them and I bought a pile at the time, but his site is essentially down now.

Also, have a look under your switch tip. Some of them are made with two different slots 90 degrees off, with one longer than the other to accommodate US vs. import switches. The blade on the two are slightly different size. If you're using the long slot when you should be using the short one, or if you have a tip that's designed solely for a wide blade when you have a narrow blade switch, that could be the problem.

If you would consider a Tele type tip, here's my favorite:

Like the links Kevin posted, not exactly inexpensive, but a domed top option if you prefer that style.

Rutters also sells the tele control plate with the angled switch slot, which I love on my Bari-Tele.
I like the angled switch too, used a Rock Rabbit angled plate for my Tele.

Thank's for your help.I ordered custom raw Brass switch tip from Rutters Guitars which should look great on my strat build. :headbanging:
