5 Way Super Switch: Reversing Humbucker Polarity

I have a Seymour Duncan Jazz and JB, which I want to wire to a 5 way Super Switch. My goal is to achieve the standard Ibanez configuration shown below.

My understanding is Ibanez, and PRS for that matter, have one humbucker with reverse polarity. In doing so they can achieve hum canceling in all switched positions. I believe you can achieve this with any set of humbuckers, you simply need to flip the mangnet over, not rotate it, and you should be be able to get the combinations below.

Is my understanding correct? Does it matter if I flip the magnet in neck or bridge? I plan on giving this a shot this weekend, but want to double check before I rip apart my humbuckers. Thanks for the insight and I appreciate the help.

If anyone's interested I solved this with some help from the Seymour Duncan guys. Below is the post which includes wiring diagrams, pics, switch details...pretty good stuff.

If you want to use a toggle switch you can get something very similar with the freeway switch plus one more option.

Question: Did you have to flip the magnet or change any of the wiring in the Duncan pickups? I'm looking to do one of these setups possibly as well, and looking over everything, that was the part I wasn't clear on.

On the diagrams on the Duncan page, do any of them not require modifying the pickups? Or do they all require it?

Thanks!

To get this wiring to work you need two things.

First, you need the correct 5 way switch, which is Ibanez specific. The part number is 3PS1SC5. I picked one up for $15 on ebay.

Second, if you're using Duncans, or any humbuckers with the same polarity, you DO need to flip the magnet. I learned through trial and error that to get all positions hum canceling using the Ibanez switch the magnet in the neck pickup must be flipped. I first flipped the bridge magnet thinking it wouldn't matter. I was wrong...it must be the neck.

I gotta say, I absolutely love the switching options and this is favorite setup. Every position is unique and sounds great with the Jazz JB set I used. It's really awesome.

The guys on the Seymour Duncan site really helped me out. They provided lots of wiring help, diagrams, and basically walked me step by step throughout the entire process. You can check out my post over there at: https://forum.seymourduncan.com/showthread.php?337861-Ibanez-HH-5-Way-Switch-With-Duncans (hope it's ok to link to other sites, if not I'll delete)

Thanks!
I've read that post, I need to read it again. I wasn't certain on if the magnet needed to be swapped, that's why I asked here. I also wasn't totally sure if I could just leave the wiring as it is.

Again, thanks for replying. I play bass normally, but I needed a guitar for some stuff and I found an older used Ibanez in great condition for sale and grabbed it (because it was better than the new stuff at the same price). When I got home and started playing it, I too fell in love with the pickup setup. I've been planning to build a double neck bass/guitar for a while now and I want this type of set up for the guitar. I'm very glad that I found your posts.
