That looks rad!  I wonder if there's some way to get either the body or the body pattern for a local 3-D printer to run off.  $3500 is REALLY steep for something I could otherwise do myself.

It's a cool idea! Although isn't the 3D printer stuff just about like plastic? A friend of mine has one at his work, made a Portal cube with it (from the video game Portal). Sounded really cool!

ya need a pretty big 3d printer to do that and depending on the type of printer and plasitc it may have really poor sustain. not to mention the hours it takes to make one lead to really low production rates.
