35 inch scale necks for Deluxe 5

Yes the subject is obvious. And no, "get a Gecko" is not an acceptable answer. I own two 35-inch scale 5-strings, and there is not a way to describe the difference. This is especially true when tuning down half, or whole step. I am NOT a metal guy. Many gospel players (not that either, but I digress) do this as well, and frankly, most of the affordable 5-string on the market with a 35 scale just plain SUCK. I am convinced the retrofit market would be excellent for these as well. Since Fender has not adopted the longer scale length, a replacement market may be in order. Unless Warmoth plans on handing that over to Moses. But many of us prefer wood, and just having the option (I'd gladly pay extra), would REALLY put a Warmoth on the map for many of us working pros not satisfied with this ridiculously huge gap in the market. Yes the Gecko is nice. I built one. But nothing feels (or sounds) like a good J-bass. And when one shows up for a recording session with anything that doesn't look like a F-word bass, and yes, this still happens, all hell can break loose, and one can lose the gig. Yes, I have seen this happen.
Yes I'm babbling, but come on guys. I KNOW there's a market for this.

I'll be first in line.

It'll cost you more time and money than Warmoth, but..

Well... Here's a question.... Can a Deluxe 5 be routed for a Gecko neck?

Not easily.  Different scale length, different neck joint, different heel size.  If it could, due to the different scale length and greater number of frets, the bridge would need to be relocated or the cutaway would need to be changed to accomodate.

I'll add my support - and also for a 35" scale option for 4-string basses, for those who like to tune down to B but don't need the extra string.
