3 way toggle for carve tops?

I need a black 3 way toggle (LP style) for my new CTV build.  Do they make these with longer threaded barrels so I can avoid routing the rear of the control cavity?  I know I could get a deeper threaded collar, but these don't come in black.  I guess using my forstner to take out a little meat round back isn't a bad way to go. What do you guys do?  Any best practices?

I can't find a deep-barrel black toggle, so I guess relieving the rear of the mounting point is the other option. Gotta be careful with carved tops, though. The opposite side can be angled, so you run a real risk of partially cutting through the top.
