OK, here's what I want to do.  I'm building a 3 pickup LP with a humbucker in the neck and bridge and a P90 in the middle.  Can I use the 3 way toggle to select between bridge, bridge/neck, and neck pickups, and use either a switch or push/pull to activate the P90 IN ADDITION TO the pickup selected by the toggle?  Sounds pointless I know, thats just how i'd like to wire it and I can't seem to find a diagram for it.  thanks!

just combine some diagrams, its easy.but how do you wanna do it with the pot meters? do you wanna have 1 tone and a volume for each pickup? thats also easy to do. 1 master volume is imho even easier, but ok.

for that p90 pickup: wire the hot output of the p90 to the middle lug of the toggle/pushpull. the switch, not the pot itself! take a multimeter or any other electric device with which you can measure currents with, and find out at which lug the switch has a connection with in the down and up positions. solder a wire to the lug which is connected to the middle lug when the pot is pulled up. solder that wire to the output, and you're sorted!

here is someone "TOTALLY QUALIFIED" to answer your question . . . this guy is "THE SHIT" . . . no disrespect !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are welcome

cheers :eek:ccasion14:

he'll be able to talk you through it and maybe draw you a diagram or refer you to the perfect place ! more beer :eek:ccasion14:

just start some dialog with him, tell him a former customer of his referred you to him . . .

wait, I can make you this diagram :) gimme a day.

ohhh wait: do you want for each pickup a volume and 1 mastertone, or what?

I would appreciate a diagram on this too, as I'm looking at the same option.

I'm also looking at a standard 5-way strat switch for two HBs, with the additionalmiddle switch.

I'm going to go the 3 vol, 1 tone/push/pull or 3 vol, 1 miniswitch.  The push/pull or miniswitch is to activate the middle pickup.

the upper one is for shane, the other one is for Pitchshifter.

I'll explain a bit.

for shane:

for all the pickups, you've got a volumepot. I just noticed I forgot to make a volume for the middlepickup (I assumed it would be a p90, but if its a humbucker, no problem, you only need 2 wires, hot and cold, each brand will tell you which one is hot for volume and which one is cold for earth). but thats easy to do. just think of that wire that goes to the toggle (the round dots near the dark spot, which was a mistake, sorry), as one of the wires that goes to the volumepots of the bridgepickup. you have a hot-out of the vol.pot for the middle that goes to the toggle.

I do not know how the pushpull works,  so you need to measure it with a multimeter. use the setting that gives a 'bleep' when the 2 lugs connect. its easy:

you see 2 rows, each with 3 lugs. when the knob is in its down-position, find out which ones make contact. lets say, middle and out (most far away from the lugs of the pot itself!). that means, in its up-position, you get the middle and the outside (near the lugs of the pot!). the hot-wire of the volumepot of the middle pickup goes to the middle lug, thats for sure, and the wire that goes from the push pull to the output, will be soldered to either one of the outside positions. My guess is the one that is near the lugs of the pot itself. but its easy to hear. its just that 2 positions are interchanged. if you have the middlepickup on when the PP is down, just switch the placing of the wire. I hope you understand?

for pitchshifter:

for you, its actually the same. but now with just 1volume 1 tone, a 3way and a pushpull or a 2way, whatever you like.

I hope its helpfull. I dont have somehting like paint, so I had to do it by hand.
