I was quite excited to see todays facebook posting, and I know several of you do not use it, so here it is!

We recently added a few showcase necks that showed off some new inlay face dot materials. We've been using Turquoise Stone, Red Coral Stone and Black Mother of Pearl. Well, we have more materials coming to an In Stock Showcase near you. For now, these materials are set as Showcase Only or call in to order. We will soon be featuring Azurite Malachite, Arizona Turquoise and Bloody Basin Jasper. All of these new inlays are high end, actual stone materials. They are not plastic/synthetic. Note that the sanding marks shown in these images will not be there in a completed neck once the neck is sanded.

Yeah, if there are inlays, a seafoam green jazzmaster with turquoise blocks would be a really cool setup...  Awe crap, not again.  I have to sedate the hamsters upstairs, too many ideas.

Yea, that is very cool!  They also have Black Mother of Pearl.
The part of this I don't care for is the email advertising the new colors of inlay states they are for show case items only.
It would sure be nice to have these available for custom orders.  Don't really understand why that should be a problem.
:dontknow: :icon_scratch: ??? :dontknow:

That really doesn't make much sense. The difference between inlays, from a production standpoint, is which bin the technician reaches into for the inlay material. Unless I have been grossly misinformed?

Possibly they came in a big bag of round pellets suitable for dots only?

I don't know?  I guess I must have been thrown off by the title "New Neck Inlay Face Dot Materials - Showcase Only".
I am not seeing where it says they were available with call-in orders.  I don't see any reason why one would not
be able to custom order a neck with the new inlays.  Just saying the message is a bit confusing.

In the very first post of the thread, the copied facebook post said: "For now, these materials are set as Showcase Only or call in to order." I think that's the only place it was stated.

Email was for "Coming Soon" and now the new post is what's currently available?
idk. either way, new inlay material options!

I meant doing dot inlays on custom orders.

I actually really wanted turquoise dots on my Jazz bass.  If only I had known.  The abalone looks good though.

You would have had to be careful making sure the turquoise was the same color as your body, otherwise the colors might have clashed.

It may be that the material is in short supply or difficult to work with, so they're only doing it on their own say-so. Kinda like the occasional Cocobolo or Ebony necks. Not available by order, but you see them in the Showcase from time to time.
