Tough choice, but I have to vote for Scartozi because it's a bit more unique.  Everything else is just a twist on the traditional

My #2 is Patrick's Tele... is that a quilted bubinga top?  It would have gotten my #1 vote, but it looks too much like a Fender Showmaster (especially because of the Strat headstock)... also, the Showmaster is neckthru, so it'd probably be a better guitar if it weren't for the mediocre quality of the Korean Fenders.

The flame/quilt maple-topped Strats & Teles are also cool, but I can't vote for them because it's nothing I haven't seen before.

I think Scartozi produced a great unifying theme rather than just building something that looks nice.  It almost looks like a relic'd Strat, but it has so much more grit... the pickguard is a perfect complement, the fretboard color matches very well with the theme (and a bit darker, as a fretboard should be), the color scheme is simple and complex at the same time, and the 3+3 headstock wraps up a generally gritty feeling.  I'd probably never build anything like that myself, but I can appreciate its artistic value.

Thanks everyone, all of the guitars were awesome in their own right. I feel honored!  :)

Thanks again DMRACO for running the contests throughout the year, and all the random BS, lol.  :icon_thumright:

ORCRiST

Congratulation, ORCRiST! A fine instrument, well done, and highly deserving of this award/recognition. Gonna be a tough act to follow.

It is Quilted Maple on Black Korina with a Macassar Ebony neck.  I dyed it several times and blended it to get a look that is similar to a Fire Burst.  The neck is a Strat neck, because it was a showcase item, and I couldn't pass it up.

Congrats ORCRiST, Yours is a beaut!

Thanks man, I was going to post this earlier... I think people know my general feelings about Tele's (...and
Fenders, and LPs), and I won't rehash it here. That being said, if my guitar hadn't been in the mix - your's would
have gotten my vote - that finish is just f-ing wicked, I keep going back to look at it. Take it for what you will,
its the highest praise I can offer. :)

ORC

P.S. Mully what is the pickguard material/color you have on yours called? I dig.

Congratulations ORCRiST!  :hello2:

That is a very well executed guitar. That paint scheme is tops!

Congrats to all. So many really nice guitars. I wish I could play them all.

Yup, figured Orc would win. Funny, but I voted for Orc last month based on the originality. Even though it's been done plenty of times, I just thought GTR475's was such a lovely execution of a classic. Nice gitfiddles all around.

well, at least some Minnesotans are able to bring us home a win! Congrats :icon_thumright:

why??  :sad1: why oh why? to me, its horible. again, just some decals on a guitar, my lil sister can do that too :(

well, its not my guitar.

congrats anyway, and a happy new year!

Those aren't decals, it's been airbrushed. Also, there's a lot of detail that isn't visible in the small pics shown here. I'll see if I can find the build thread, and you can see what an incredible paint job that really is.

edit: Here we go.

Also, the 9 page build thread is here, and there are numerous pictures along the way.

Orpheo, you've done so much routing in nice woods that you don't have reason to call him badly ;)

Just for that Kahler bridge you should go to jail for 20 years  :toothy12:

Awesome!  I was just thinking about how i needed a good LED watch, which is exactly why i logged on to unofficialwarmoth.com
