WOW  :o on the Wenge, I was a little worried on the 'so called' rough grain.

Hoping to toss in a Roland GK-3 internal instal on this  :icon_biggrin: still deciding Pups.
Will open 'A work in progress' when I get going on this as well.
Busy time of year at work now for me, so probably won't get to much done in the next few weeks.

Ewwwwwwwwww....a tele custom. Of all of the "standard" tele configurations, that's my fav... :icon_thumright:

Hey Updown,

looks really nice, great choice. Hope you are able to build it fast, so we can all see the very nice piece.... :icon_biggrin:

Bye  JULIA

As long as this build doesn't have gold hardware it will be beautiful

(Mary Kaye is the ugliest finish ever made)

Thanks all ....

Didn't I mention GOLD  :icon_jokercolor:

Will have Chrome  :icon_thumright: that make ya happy AutoBat  :icon_biggrin:

Since ee are all telling you how to build your guitar I think a brown tortoise guard would be sooper sexy.

Hmmm... that neck looks familiar...

You're gonna love that wenge/wenge - it plays really dry and fast.  And I see you got the SS 6115's, which I also have.  Very comfy and slick.  Your good taste is evident, my friend.

Bagman's right - that Wenge over Wenge w/ SS fretted neck is just sex. Also, the tummy cut on a Tele body is a wonderful thing. That's gonna be a super-comfy guitar that you'll love to play even if you never plug it in.

:hello2:

Wenge intrigues me but I've never used it, so...
I have a little fear: it gives you that feeling?
The open pores give you a good feel? It's smooth, velvety and fast? Must be fed with oil?

It feels great. Very smooth and fast as it's super-hard, and I'm sure it doesn't require any oil maintenance. But, it is an open grain, so I'm a little afraid of it, too. The grain is wide open and deep, so you know it's going to collect a lot of dirt/grime/skin cells/etc. until it's like a car repair shop floor. Think of how fast your fingernails collect gunk and turn black, and that's what I perceive Wenge's grain being like. I may be wrong as I don't have enough time on the stuff to say for certain, but it makes sense. Then, how can you clean it? I don't know. I'm not a germophobe, but it seems like a biohazard to me.

Wenge is a natural non stick.  I have three Wenge necks and they are all fine.  Extremely fast, very comfy.  The open spots are just from the new micro tone worms.  Anyways, they are very slick to play on, and quite fun.
Patrick

Thanks again all ...

Thanks ...
Hey yeah it is very similar ..... Oppps sorry about that, you can blame Warmoth for that  :toothy11:
Yep I always try & go with SS 6115's Frets and Graph Tech nuts. Is what I like & I'm use to.

As Cagey said .... Sex on a stick  :icon_thumright:  Just like the Pau-Ferro / Ebony
It's NOT as grainy as they and others make it out to be, feels very similar / smooth / fast as Pau-Ferro.
The wgt of the Wenge neck is 666 grams  :evil4:
The wgt of my 'Stunning Showcase Neck' Pau-Ferro / Ebony Macassar is 785 grams
Both with the same SS Frets / Nut / Construction type.
No wonder I felt a weight difference between the two  :toothy11:

And YES Cagey it will be getting plugged in  :laughing7:  and used and abused .... when it's done !! ... Thats the general idea !!

Anyway ... Can't imagine it making a good toilet roll holder  ..... all thou
