So the wiring diagram for that configuration on seymourduncan.com is set up for the volume pot having the push/pull tap.  What if mine is on the tone pot?

Actually, in the following diagram, there's a thingy on the lower right hand corner labeled 223J soldered to a couple points on the tone pot.  What the hell is that?

Yeah, that was my first thought, too.  I looked it up and apparently 223J = .022 µF.  The 'Shack should have it (unless they suck and don't).

Where do I connect to ground on a 3-way tele switch?  According to the following picture, there is no thingy for it:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=3ws_trans

But according to this diagram, I need one to connect the switch to ground somehow:

Could someone please look at this diagram and help me with where to attach the ground wire that runs from the volume pot to the switch, keeping in mind I'm using a standard 3-way tele switch.  The switch shown in the diagram is more of a Gibson style (or something, not sure) but in any case, the diagram for that switch (the one in the diagram shown) has a pole that actually says "ground."  The 3-way switch has no such labelling.  Where does the ground wire from the volume pot get soldered to on a 3-way tele switch??

Ok...from searching and cross-referencing with other diagrams, it looks like the 3-way switch doesn't need to be grounded?  Is that correct?  How could one type of switch need to be grounded but another not?  :help:

Please re-read my post.  I'm asking WHERE ON THE SWITCH to connect the ground wire.  ON THE SWITCH ITSELF.  Where does the black wire connect to ON THE SWITCH.  Not "where does it go to?"  Coming FROM the 500k pot, TO the switch.  But where do I put the ground wire ON THE SWITCH?

Sorry if I sound like a dick, but this is the 2nd time someone's answered with the opposite of what I'm asking.

The switch will have to be grounded. Looks to me like there may be a terminal (maybe a screw?) on the side of the switch which acts as the ground. Notice that the bare wires are connected to this terminal in the diagram.
Of course, you can scuff an area of the switch that won't contact the pickup/control wires and use that as the ground point.

I ended up grounding the wires to the back of the volume pot.  I tested my setup by strumming my other (assembled) electric and holding up my body to it and it works in all positions.  But now I have another question.  I followed the Fender diagram for the Telecaster Custom FMT and used the wire colors accordingly because I ordered the exact pickups from that guitar.  They are Duncans.  But now that I'm done and everything seems fine, according to Seymour Duncan's website, the colors correspond to different things.  Should I worry about this?  Would the thing even work if red was supposed to be green or whatever?  This is so fu*king retarded.  If it's a Seymour Duncan pickup, the colors should just be all the same everywhere (on Fender's site & SD's).  Why is there so much convoluted information?  Do you know how long it took to make sure I was hooking up the right wires to the fu*king jack?  I just wanted to know which tip was ground and which was hot.  I eventually found it on a forum.  wtf?  Why no documentation?  Anyway, my original question about the wiring is more important and I would appreciate any  :help: anyone might have.

If you mean the question about the push/pull being on the tone pot instead of on the volume, I would say that doesnt matter at all (except obviously you have to push/pull the other button to use it). If it was a completely separate switch it would still be the same. The switch is just physically on the same spindle as the pot, but electrically they are two completely separate things. No hidden connections on the inside. As long as you connect the all terminals on the push/pull to the same points as in the diagram, it will be ok.
My 2 cents on grounding the switch: if the switch is housed in a metal box, you need to ground the housing. If there is no metal housing there is no need (and no possibility) to ground the switch.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.  Considering the number of people on this board who must've wired up a Tele, you would think it would have been an easy question.  Thanks.

Any input on those wire colors, anyone?
