This is pretty sweet how the back grain and colors flow right in with the neck grain and colors.  I mean obviously the grain pattern is linear, but the coloration is almost perfect between the two...

The neck is quartersawn.  I wanted it to look like it was one piece all the way through.  But really....check out that killer neck plate  :icon_biggrin:

meh. plate don't do it for me personally. I would put some bolt ferrules on that baby, show some more of that wood and how well it matches the neck.

+100, no blight on the neckplate or nothin', would be cool on the right build, but on this it just looks like a bad tramp stamp. Ferrules would kickarse!

I say, keep the neck plate if you like it.  If you don't think it fits with the whole guitar use it on another.  I bought a blue flamed guitar strap months ago, and now that I put it next to the guitar, I'm like yuck, two different kinds of blue, that looks nasty, what was I thinking.  Your build looks awesome, keep the pics coming. :icon_thumright:

oh, I wasn't saying I didn't like the neckplate, on the contrary, it's pretty BA in my opinion . . . . I was just thinking that the look of ferrules and the way the neck and body woods match up would be too much for me to pass up. Besides, then you've got a start (excuse for) the next build  :icon_thumright:

Sorry, such a paradox of awesome could not be left unnoticed.  A guy not noticing that the guy who called him out on commenting on his own post commented on his own post in a feat of flagrant facetiousness is just so utterly beyond crazy cool ironic that I have to chronicle it forever in my mind.
