12 string strat pickup?

I've been thinking about building a moderately priced strat 12 string from Warmoth parts recently and I'm wondering whether or not standard vintage single coils would be an advisable choice given the string spacing on a 12 string.

Basically does anyone think it is worth me buying something like dimarzio blade style pus, seymour duncan rails style pus or something like lace sensors to get a wider area to 'pickup' the string sound as the strings will not directly be above the pole pieces?

I've noticed fender use very standard looking SCs on their new 12 string mexican strat and the rather excellent yamaha pacifica 12 string guitar had something similar so perhaps normal pickups would be fine and they would keep my costs down as I can get fairly cheap fender custom shop pickup sets off a UK dealership which should have the required low output vintage voice I'm looking for for a jangly 12 string.

I've got Duncan Rails in my Veillette. I love the sound, but I wouldn't call it particularly "jangly".

I would go with the low -ish output Fender CS pickups.
Don't worry about the polepiece spacing...it's all over the place on a Strat anyway.
(Bridge pickup too narrow, especially as it's angled).

If you use the Gotoh 12 string bridge, I think the string spacing is a bit closer, so even better  :)

Lipstick tubes don't have polepieces and have a vintage jangly sound.  I love them, I have three waiting around for a future build and I had one in my old Peavey.  They might be what you're looking for.

Though as others have said, the pole-piece thing is kind of a non-issue, though it's possible that a rail or lipstick pup would give you a more even response within a course.  Not sure.
