I live in Hong Kong, and often it is easier or cheaper to have some things made locally than to import them.
One of those things is the brass 'Big Block' replacement for Floyd Rose and similar bridges.
Armed with two factory examples and the brass for the replacements, I went to see the man I usually task with such things. He has a very small (garage-size) machine shop in Mong Kok and does such small-volume work.
A week later (I could have gotten them faster but was in no hurry), I got them back.
They are tapped for the correct screws for their respective bridges(2 Gotoh and 1 Floyd), and I had him use the standard Floyd spring attachment.
I really like the Gotoh style with the screws to hold the spring in, but I didn't want or need these to be so thoroughly engineered.
The brass pieces for the 3 blocks were HK$20 each, or US$2.56.
The machining was HK$150 (US$19.24) per block.
I'll install them sometime soon (famous last words). But here are some photos.
