    Twisted neck?

Good morning Stratamania, thanks for your reply! I read up on some stuff on Google and took my straight edge and put it on one side of the neck and there was a slight relief but on the other side if i held the straight edge down on one end like at the top, it came completely off of the fretboard...

    Twisted neck?

It's a Affinity Squire neck with a CBS headstock. Not that it helps to know that but just saying. 😳

    Twisted neck?

I bought a neck from somewhere in Az. and when I mounted it there was a gap between the neck and body as you are looking down at the top. So on further inspection I noticed the holes were drilled at an angle pulling it back as it was tightened. I filled the holes with dowels and redrilled them...

    CBS neck short

So I drilled out the holes to 1/8th inch and used 3/16th dowels that I put in my drill and held a piece of sandpaper around them and turned them down to fit snuggly into the holes and filled them using medium ca glue to hold them and taking off the tops with a sharp chisel then sanding the neck...

    CBS neck short

Well, upon further evaluation, I bolted the neck on (with the gap in front), and it intonated fine but upon removing it I saw the reason that the gap is there. The screw holes are angled. I'm going to fill them with 1/8th inch dowels and re-drill the holes on my drill press. It will move the...

    CBS neck short

Hello out there! I bought a neck online for my Squire Strat. It is an old CBS Squire neck I think it said and it fits the screw pattern but it's a little loose and there is a sizeable gap in front of the neck where it meets the body. I guess I could shim the front or fill the holes and move it...

    Oops

I guess all that side screw does is put some pressure on the main truss rod mechanic as you tighten it to pull the neck a little straighter. I read up on it and the main truss rod does most of the work and the side is for small adjustments due to weather or whatever. The big adjustment screw is...

    Oops

I took some needle nostrils and removed the snapped off screw, removed the neck and tightened the big allen bolt until the neck had a little backboe. Reinstalled neck and strung it up and all is well! What a relief!!! Thanks for the info! 😊

    Oops

Hello out there, so I snapped the side truss rod adjusting screw in my Warmoth neck off. Any pointers on what to do, I guess I could use it as a baseball bat. 😬 Thanks in advance, Victor

    My Current Warmoth Collection

Thanks guys, the nut width on the one I'm building is 1.75. I probably should have gotten the boat profile but I got the standard thin profile. Maybe I'll get the fat one on my next build. 🎸

    My Current Warmoth Collection

I was browsing posts and came up on this one. I see that you have used the conversion neck on your builds. I built a Jazzmaster and a Strat and used the standard scale length on both. I play fingerstyle so I built these guitars with 1 7/8ths nut widths. I used the standard thin profile on the...
