Twisted neck?

I bought a neck from somewhere in Az. and when I mounted it there was a gap between the neck and body as you are looking down at the top. So on further inspection I noticed the holes were drilled at an angle pulling it back as it was tightened. I filled the holes with dowels and redrilled them and all is good. After set up I'm having to raise the high e string way up to keep it from buzzing. Maybe it's twisted? Any suggestions? Thanks

It's a Affinity Squire neck with a CBS headstock. Not that it helps to know that but just saying. 😳

Have you got a straight edge, and checked any of the neck with such a tool etc?
Is the truss rod adjusted correctly?
Are the frets level etc?
Did the E string do that before you filled the original holes and redrilled?

There are many variables that could be in play here and nothing to see for anyone to analyse.

Good morning Stratamania, thanks for your reply! I read up on some stuff on Google and took my straight edge and put it on one side of the neck and there was a slight relief but on the other side if i held the straight edge down on one end like at the top, it came completely off of the fretboard at the other end like a back bow. I could loosen the truss rod and it would get better but once I put strings on and brought it to normal tension it needed that truss rod to be tightened. The back bow was on the low E side and the relief on the other but with it strung up at full tension everything seemed to be ok with the exception of having to raise my saddle on that high e to stop it from buzzing way higher than the rest of the strings! I reached out to The Neck Shoppe where I bought it from and got with eBay about a return because The Neck Shoppe said no returns on the email that I got after I had bought the neck and with the involvement of eBay within minutes was able to get a return authorization for the full amount including shipping and a free shipping label to put on the box that I fedexed it back to AZ in! It's now on the way back. What a relief!!! 😀 I appreciate your suggestions as always my mythically statussed friend!!!
