Question on wiring up a double-neck Guitar / Bass - neck selector, yes or no?

At this point I took the switch that was supposed to select bass pickups (Neck, bridge, or both) and turned that into a selector switch. Honestly, I've been playing bass for years and I don't recall ever seeing a bass with a selector switch. That's what volume knobs are for! (Or balance if you...

Question on wiring up a double-neck Guitar / Bass - neck selector, yes or no?

The reason I ask is that the 'kit' I bought, doesn't do a selector switch. Which is just weird to me (so I decided to put one in, and rewire the electronics because I just don't like the way it's done on the base side). But i thought I'd ask here first, because I've not seen that many double...

Question on wiring up a double-neck Guitar / Bass - neck selector, yes or no?

Quick question: On a double neck, do you have all the pickups for both necks always live? Or do you have a selector switch to switch between the different necks? I'm about to wire one up, so looking at my choices.

I's finally done. (HH with Ibanez 5-way switch)

So I finally finished that HH 5 way Ibanez switch project. It took a lot longer than I wanted it too, and well, it does sound great and it plays really well. I haven't intonated it yet, but it's pretty close on already. I'd enter it into the 'guitar of the month' contest, but I know where the...

Need Help on Ibanez HH wiring with the 5-way switch

Okay, I've gone over the schematic in detail. I checked the neck coil and it's good. I rung out all the positions on the switch and they're good. 1st thing I had wrong is that you have to flip the pickup as well as the magnet (this is on the neck pickup) or it won't switch right. (I guess you...

Here's the wiring: (and yes, this requires a specific switch that only Ibanez makes & sells)

Need Help on Ibanez HH wiring with the 5-way switch

Attached is the way it's supposed to perform. The schematic is on the other Ibanez HH thread, but I will find it and post it here as well.

Need Help on Ibanez HH wiring with the 5-way switch

It's the right 5-way switch, I ordered it specifically. I don't have a schematic test it either. Right now I'm betting the Seymour Duncan pickup is bad (I wonder if they'll replace it, seeing as I flipped the magnet?). I doubt that the switch is. But I wanted to know if the perhaps the diagram...

Need Help on Ibanez HH wiring with the 5-way switch

Okay, some of you may recall this topic went around a number of months ago. At least one other person here has done this and now it's my turn. I wired it as per the diagram posted here and flipped the magnet in the neck pickup. But, it's not working right. Positions 2 and 4 don't work - totally...

    I need a 43mm 12 string nut for a Les Paul (electric)

I'm looking for a 43mm nut for an ELECTRIC 12 string Les Paul style guitar. Apparently nobody makes these that I can find. The one I got it too high and I'd rather shave down a different one and swap 'em, than grind on the one I got. And I'm not filing one myself. Now I know why nobody does...

    Anyone here use Crystalac?

Yup, and that's why I decided to try it. Big mistake. If you even look at this stuff the wrong way, it goes bad. And the instructions? What's on the label doesn't match the instructions on their website (where you find 2 different versions). Can't store below 60 degrees or it ruins it. Can...

    Anyone here use Crystalac?

It's toast. None of the old wives tales on google to lighten stain work. Tried 'em all.

    Anyone here use Crystalac?

Well I sanded it back and restained it. There are spots now along the side that are black. It just soaked up way too much stain. Either the Pre-Stain didn't do its job, or it's just cause it was stained once already. Not really sure what. On the top cut out I really need to figure out someway...

    Anyone here use Crystalac?

The first one was clear poly and mineral oil. You're supposed to wipe it on, give it four minutes and then wipe it off before it fully sets up, giving a thin smooth coat. Then do that like 15 more times, giving it about an hour to dry after each coat. That did not work as advertised.

    Anyone here use Crystalac?

I'm about to sand my guitar body back to bare wood for the second time. First time I thought I'd try a new finish that a guitar builder liked a lot. Unfortunately it burned through with incredibly ease (maybe I wasn't supposed to level sand it?) So sand back, restain and decided to try...
