Over the weekend I tried out my lathe for the first time and made these lil' rascals.   I can't divulge what wood the knobs are basically b/c I don't know - this was a Woodcraft $20 grab box of cutoffs and what not that were sold for small carving.  I was aghast at how expensive the knobs were...

I solved the coco question - it was a quartersawn bubinga - I saw that plank's brother at the woodworkingshop.com retail store in Raleigh.  Still drool worthy!  Bought a boatload of coco, zyrcote, rosewood and other exotics last weekend; I'll hold off until they're something to look at....
