I just ordered a chambered mahogany J-bass body with this top. /drool I'm going to use Tru-Oil to finish it.

Just got my fourth plate and put it on. Like the others, this is the finishing touch that really makes the guitar finished. Thanks man!  :party07:

You know, I looked for those back when I was buying parts and had a really hard time finding anything I liked. I ended up buying some tele knurled chrome knobs and they looks pretty good. I'll post some pics soon.

Actually he was very honest and was essentially charging me for the cost of shutting down his CNC for an afternoon. It was $300 for two rings and two knobs and a little switch tip. Too rich for my blood! Regardless, I'm very happy with the way these turned out.

I got them from a guy on ebay. I believe they were from this guy: http://www.pickuprings.com/ I inquired about having him make me a set from Zebrawood with matching knobs... you don't want to know how expensive that would have been.  :evil4:

Yes they are. I sanded them down and tru-oiled them as well. I inititally had plastic but didn't like them.

Cool project and very ambitious. If I may make  non-guitar related aside... As a professional that relies on your hands, you have seen a physician for your issues, correct? I would see a good orthopedic surgeon for a checkup if you haven't already.  (Thats my day job interfering) Good luck!
