    Need bridge advice for Jazzmaster

I recently put together a Warmoth Jazzmaster and I have to agree with Tfarny, it may be a better idea to go hardtail or to get a strat type bridge. But, if you are like me, and you really want the whole jazzmaster package (so using the Jazzmaster trem) then you really have only three options in...

    stereo hifi tube amp

This has been getting good reviews, and it looks quite well put together (the 6moons review has some pictures of the innards): http://www.audio-magus.com/product_p/gla1.htm.

Best choice for L5S "acoustic" pickup???

I've never used them but I have come across a few good reviews, none if I remember right of the TOM version. Maybe someone else on the board got a chance to try them out?

Best choice for L5S "acoustic" pickup???

You may also want to look at the Graphtec Ghost pickups - you will just need to buy the saddles so you won't have to replace the whole assembly. The only worry may be getting the right radius as I'd be quite wary of filing down saddles with piezo pickups in them - but maybe I am wrong there and...

    3 pickup Jazzmaster?

Tfarny - sorry you're right! I didn't realize that the usual pickup switch was modified as well - sorry PitchShifter, I should've been more attentive. What I was thinking is that if you take the original Jazzmaster schematics, make the proper modifications so only the middle pickup is...

    3 pickup Jazzmaster?

The upper bout switch on a jazzmaster switches between circuits (2 way), and the lower bout between pickups (3 way). I don't know much about circuit blending so probably someone else on the board is much better suited to answer this than me, but it seems like a first step will be turning the 2...

    strangest instrument ever

    Grounding

Doesn't the tele bridge and thus the strings get grounded from the pickup mounting bolts? (if you are using a standard single coil telecaster pickup that is)

TronePros Locking Tune-O-Matic Bridge Doesn't Fit

Someone please do correct me if I'm wrong in regards to LP studs, but for my Jazzmaster I just used tightly rolled up sandpaper to remove some of the finish that enlarged the stud holes, take it slowly and make sure you don't enlarge them too much, patience is key here. Then just insert the...

    Question for my fellow Canucks...

Depending on where you live, in lieu of L&M, try a few of the local guitar shops, they can often order the parts in, and the overhead will often be just the price of shipping. Where are you located in Canada? If you're in Toronto, if I remember right, Steve's has a good selection of pick-ups.

    Swamp Ash Mary Kaye Jazzmaster

Thanks for the kind comments everyone - hanny, I think you not only need but should make one if that's the case, we need more bona-fide jazzmasters on this forum! It's a surprisingly versatile guitar due to the two tone circuits. The lead is very bright and punchy, almost like a telecaster (well...

    Jazzmaster pickups

Curtis Novak makes some humbuckers that fit in the Jazzmaster route that with a "dial-a-tap" (variable) coil split setup on the second set of pots on the guitar can still sound like a Jazzmaster. But I doubt those will nail the Jazzmaster tone. I have a pair of Seymour Duncan Antiquity 2 pickups...

    Swamp Ash Mary Kaye Jazzmaster

I've wanted for quite a long time a vintage spec Jazzmaster (I'm without doubt a sucker for the tones of a 60's Jazzmaster) so this has definitely been a dream guitar project for a few years now - of course, with Warmoth parts it turned out way better than I could've possibly hoped for! One...
