    2nd guitar in a month!!!

Thanks for the comments guys Im no expert at veneering, this was my first attempt - so look to be corrected by any exerts out there. I did it by using two flat boards and loads of clamps all round. If you do try this it's important to put paper or polythene between the board and the project as...

    2nd guitar in a month!!!

I think everyone who has ordered custom stuff from Warmoth know how agonising the wait can be. In my case whilst waiting for the Mooncaster I couldn't hold myself together any longer and so decided to do a scratch build with timber I had hanging around. I've accumulated a lot over the years from...

    Moonster update

Hi Wildbill, As you may guess I'm no expert when it comes to electric guitars, but in the few days I've been playing i've enjoyed the tonal variations that the triple shots give. As yet i've still to find my way around what settings sound best for different tunes - a side effect of having so...

    Moonster update

It's been a long challenging day. Wow did I set myself a steep hill to climb for my first outing in wiring. It took hours and is a bit more untidy than I would like - but it works (after a minor hiccup forgetting to ground the jack  Electric specs as follows: Triple shots on both...

    The MOONSTER has landed

Thanks Cagey. Hey Double A, I  didn't get your reference 'till I looked it up - always preferred Star Trek to Star Wars. May I assume your next move is to telekinetically throttle me?  :toothy12:

    Vintage / Modern wiring

Many thanks for your input Verne, I'll post updates as the build progresses.

    Vintage / Modern wiring

I've been trying to decide whether to use modern or vintage wiring in my forthcoming project. So rather than decide,  I thought I might install a switch (in the cavity for now) that would allow me to try both options. I've modified a Les Paul type set up and would appreciate it if any wiring...

    Solder Lugs arrived!

I've been looking for these as well but wouldn't Spring the $15 they wanted to post to the UK. In the end (for anyone looking over here) I found ring terminals at RS components: http://uk.rs-online.com/largeimages/F1123182-01.jpg

    First build - Mooncaster

Hi again Pete, Yes, those are the push pull's  i'd considered but don't know if they'll fit. Triple shots AND push pulls was just a consideration - probably ott - I saw a wiring diagram on Seymour Duncan website and it allows phase & series / parallel switching Probably overkill. :icon_biggrin:

    First build - Mooncaster

That Gretsch is not for me - But it is a purty machine. Lovin the fret markers and f hole binding. Might revisit the knobs I use having seen those. Definitely an interesting idea though - what pot would you put in the horn?

    First build - Mooncaster

Thanks Pete. Any suggestion is helpful - and it could work if I can fit push / pulls in the cavity as I could double up some functions. I could even be really bold (read 'dumb') and cut a rear access port. Guess if I'm gonna do that it would be much easier to drill  a new hole where your pic...

    New Mooncaster Just Finished

Just came across your thread, great Mooncaster, hope mine comes out half as good. I'd be pleased if you could let me know what toggle switch you used, and any tricks for installing it.
