Celebrity Musicians YOU have met . . .

Kerry King was seriously the kindest most courteous guitarist I have ever had the pleasure of playing with. It was a random thing when he stopped by to check out some tracks a pal of his was laying down. He just walked into the control room with me, sat down without a word, waited for his bud to...

    Ebonol fingerboards

side note, not that I understand the science too well. I attend SUNY ESF ( State University of New York Environmental Science and Forestry) where a lot of the modern technologies of wood were researched and many developed. SUNY ESF pioneered plastic injected woods of all types as well as much of...

What is so good about ESP guitars?

From a different viewpoint: there was a time when active guitar pickups were something of a novelty. Some people saw it as a fad some jumped on board and some didn't notice for a decade.  ESP was perceived by some people as being more forward-thinking as far as electronics were concerned and...

    Gecko 6 bridge options

thanks for the advice. I've actually played around with fives quite a bit. I can handle up to a 36" scale fairly well, its more a matter of balance and weight. I can tolerate an all wenge 5 so i think i'll manage a 6 ok. The real concern though is the string spacing, and that varies so much...

I'd like to draw on the expertise of the folks here on repairing this thing, but this section is for warmoth basses only.. So where should i move it? :icon_scratch: Im sorry folks . i'm real...

Gibby EB somethin' or other - ID and Restore

yeah pretty much, back when i was ,uh, less civilized I had a mandatory restitution to fulfill.. which included emptying out a whole bunch of abandoned/condemned warehouses. I come down with a load of stuff over my shoulder, and see this other guy about to chuck a cheap hardcase into the back of...

Gibby EB somethin' or other - ID and Restore

Not that I can find. wait a minute, now i feel like fool on the headstock, partially obscured is "559844" there's a bit of a gash through it. I'd always missed that thing. i swear i've looked at it a hundred times and never seen that. I thought the EB-Os had a slotted headstock.

    Gecko 6 bridge options

I've been recruited to the bottom end of the audible sound spectrum for a bit. Figure I should get myself a decent bass while I'm at it. So.. Thinking Gecko 6 with basslines active soapbars and preamp unit for flexibility. Hipshot tuners. Non-exotic  woods this time around for cost...

    On Fire Flame Thinline

That flame is just so CLEAN looking.. Not gaudy at all, but nice, neat and classy.. I am envious. That neck finish is gorgeous and will only get better with time.

    Benedetto pickups

sorry for being late I've played a Benedetto Hb (PAF) loaded into the neck position of an Ithica Oneida Jazz which was just perfect. I'm not a real jazz guy myself, but this guitar was just amazing. Now, the Oneida has a pretty unique bracing pattern combined with exceptional woods and I'm not...
